Become a certified trainer

All our training programs are delivered by approved trainers. Our trainers provide an invaluable service and are vital in delivering nationally recognised accredited learning.

All approved trainers are vetted, assessed, and evaluated to ensure they have the appropriate skills, knowledge, behaviour, and attitude to deliver high standards of training which incorporate objectives, values and priority goals as well as the mission of SLD Training.

SLD Training develop and deliver a range of multi-disciplinary, high quality and accessible learning programmes to support Health Professionals to promote the wellbeing and recovery of individuals through our RCGP Accredited substance misuse training and all of our courses are designed to provide individuals with the core knowledge and skills required to enable them to be more confident and capable in the roles that they deliver. As part of this remit, SLD Training relies on a team of approved trainers to deliver learning programmes throughout the UK, often engaging professionals from around the world.

Responsibilities

  • To deliver a high standard of training to delegates on behalf of SLD Training in a consistent, timely and reliable manner
  • Maintain expertise and updated knowledge in the relevant area(s) of expertise
  • Lead a minimum of 1 training event per 12-month period
  • Pro-actively raise the profile and awareness of SLD Training programmes amongst practice teams, the wider primary health care community and organisations and groups related to the specific training program
  • Attend meetings associated with program delivery where appropriate
  • Upskill yourself with updates and changes made to the course materials
  • Ensure you are always working towards the Trainer Agreement document

Person Specification

Hold a professional qualification e.g. GP, Registered Pharmacist, Registered Nurse or equivalent experience for the course you will deliver.

Currently working with drug and alcohol misuse problems and ideally participating in a shared care scheme if delivering the substance misuse courses.

Understand the theory and practice of drug misuse management if delivering the substance misuse courses.

Knowledge of the issues around working with substance misuse in a primary care setting if delivering the substance misuse courses.

Have experience of the theory, practice and knowledge of the subject you will deliver.

Recent completion of the course that you wish to deliver.

Experience of delivering training packages both face-to-face and virtually.

Have good IT skills and adequate equipment suitable for the delivery of the training virtually and face-to-face.

Have excellent knowledge of the product and the challenging situations related to the training you will deliver.

Be able to engage and encourage contribution from the audience you will deliver the training package to.
